Acupuncture Support in the Post Natal Period

 Weeks 1–6 Post Delivery
This is a time of deep healing and managing acute care.

Acupuncture may support:
• Mastitis and blocked ducts
• Low or fluctuating milk supply

• Support for ending breastfeeding – pain, engorgement

• Emotional overwhelm and nervous system regulation

• Swelling in ankles or legs post recovery

• Post partum high blood pressure

• C-section recovery, including scar healing and pain
• Replenishing blood, fluids, and energy after birth

The focus here is acute care, rest, warmth, circulation, and nourishment.

Weeks 6–12 Post Delivery
As the body begins to stabilise, attention turns to rhythm and restoration.

Acupuncture may support:
• Ongoing feeding challenges
• Sleep disruption and exhaustion
• Hormonal rebalancing
• Establishing a sustainable daily rhythm
• Mood, anxiety, and emotional resilience

This stage is about helping the body adapt rather than push.

Months 3–12 Post Delivery
Often when support drops away — but needs remain.

Acupuncture may support:
• Persistent fatigue or brain fog
• Returning to work or study
• Immune resilience
• Hormonal changes as feeding patterns shift
• Feeling more like yourself again

Here, we focus on rebuilding reserves, not just coping and survival.

Years 1–3 Post Delivery
Postpartum doesn’t end when your baby stops being a baby.

Acupuncture may support:
• Long-term depletion or burnout
• Cycle regulation and hormonal health
• Emotional wellbeing
• Preparing the body for another pregnancy
• Reconnecting with strength, vitality, and balance

In Chinese medicine, this phase is about restoring what was given — so future pregnancies, health, and motherhood are supported from a place of fullness, not depletion.

🤍 Post Natal care is preventative care
You don’t need to “wait until something is wrong” to seek support.
