IVF ACUPUNCTURE | GOLD COAST

Create conditions in the body to support your IVF story

TRAVERSE THE DEEP
IVF isn’t for the faint of heart. You and I both know that.
In fact, I know with 100% certainty that you’re a warrior woman before we even meet.
How? Because I believe that IVF is one of the most demanding experiences of a lifetime – on your mind, your body, your relationship… and that’s before we delve into the financial side of things.
So setting the foundations to support your body during this process is such a wise choice.
I’m so pleased you’re here, and I don’t take your time lightly.

If this is your first round of IVF, or you’ve done IVF before and:

  • Had failed cycles without a clear understanding of why
  • Feel completely defeated, and without genuine support
  • Received pushback on investigations you’ve requested
  • Male infertility is yet to be explored in depth
  • Had poor response to ovarian stimulation
  • Experienced thin uterine challenges
  • You don’t feel heard in this process
  • Low ovarian reserve is suspected
  • Had implantation failures
  • Have lost hope

You’re in the exact right place.

Truth is: IVF is rarely just a medical process

Yet, the emotional, relational and deeply personal elements are so often overlooked. It honestly breaks my heart.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is believed that:

“The mind and body are inseparable. True healing means treating the whole person.”

That’s why our IVF acupuncture treats more than the IVF protocol (though that too).

I consider your full body biochemistry, energy and reality to put you in the best position possible for your first – or next – IVF round.

Your body craves a
nervous system in harmony

Deep down you know that IVF impacts your:

  • Feeling of isolation – navigating this feels incredibly lonely
  • Mood – hormones are rollercoastering and your body feels it
  • Stress levels – you feel pressure for your body to perform
  • Mindset – erratic, confused, impatient – it’s all uncertain

So let’s position the compass and guide you towards harmony ahead.

Welcome to specialised IVF care

During your IVF acupuncture sessions, I investigate what IVF clinics may simply not have time to explore.

This gives us a better understanding of your causes of infertility, how to best navigate IVF based on your unique chemistry…

We work to improve your confidence in your body and work deliberately towards success.

I sit alongside your IVF care, not separate from it. Not to undermine your team, but to add to it.

My advanced training in reproductive immunology, recurrent implantation failure and male infertility become valuable additions to your IVF process.

Every session moves with your body, your story.

What if you could go into your next IVF round with

Confidence, knowing your body is prepared for the process ahead?

Improved ovarian response and egg quality, even if you’ve tried other improvement methods before?

A uterine environment better prepared for implantation, without past implantation issues arising?

Greater emotional resilience and a nurtured nervous system that calmly navigates each phase?

Reduced side effects from stimulation medications and a sense of relaxation throughout the process?

Genuine support, where you’re not just ‘managed’ through the process but actually held?

Our clients words mean everything

From the very beginning, Paige has been by my side through every stage of IVF, offering not only her expertise but her genuine care and compassion throughout the entire process.”

“I got acupuncture with Paige while going through IVF and I would highly recommend!”

“What an absolute godsend Paige has been in my egg freezing journey.”

“A specialist for women undergoing fertility treatment, Paige shines. Her knowledge, her obvious love for her work and clients is a breathe of fresh air in a sector where a lot of the time you feel like a number, rushed in and rushed out of appointments.”

Hi, I’m Paige

FERTILITY WAYFINDER | QUALIFIED FERTILITY ACUPUNCTURIST | MOTHER | LIFELONG SEEKER

My obsession is explaining unexplained fertility, then treating it… because in my eyes – there simply isn’t unexplainable infertility, just unexplored infertility.

Over the past 14 years I’ve seen clients experience IVF cycles over and over without deeper investigation, treatments adapted to their body’s chemistry or outside the box testing. It’s time to change that.

Welcome to new wave fertility care. Where I am by your side before, during and after IVF cycles. We test, investigate, map, treat and maintain. To delve below the surface and traverse the deep – together.

I draw on Traditional Chinese Medicine, biomedicine and functional medicine. Then work in collaboration with your fertility specialist to give your body the best possible conditions for a successful outcome.

IN CASE YOU’RE CURIOUS

I am not affiliated with any IVF clinics. I believe this gives you the best access to fertility care, where I am purely committed to you

FAQs

The best place to start is with Fertility Forecast

Fertility Forecast assesses your fertility starting point and treats any applicable areas to support your fertility. IVF is something to discuss with your fertility specialist following this investigation.

Absolutely.

This IVF acupuncture service is specifically designed to support you before, during and after each cycle.

The best place to start is with The Search

The Search is where we dive into your infertility causes and complete a deep investigation. Once completed, we can move onto IVF Acupuncture.

Yes, in fact I encourage it.

As a standard, and when relevant, I investigate both male and female fertility.

In my professional experience, I continue to see that a complete picture of both partners’ health leads to more informed treatment and better outcomes.

Technically no (but kind of).

Children aren’t invited into clinic appointments (to ensure your safety and a relaxed experience).

There is a cafe downstairs, so you may also choose to bring a friend or grandparent to keep them company while you relax in your treatment.

Yes. Unexplained infertility is my area of special interest. Through a combination of advanced testing, Traditional Chinese Medicine and functional medicine, we work to uncover what standard investigations may have missed in Fertility Forecast and The Search services.

No referral needed. To get started, book a free 20-minute Connection Call with me (Paige). This will give us a chance to meet, discuss your journey and make sure IVF Acupuncture is right for you. If it’s not, we may point you towards a better fit service, or part ways. No pressure, and no hard feelings.

I’m currently taking bookings one month in advance.

So, as soon as you’re ready to begin, I encourage you to book a Connection Call, or enquire. The sooner you reach out, the sooner your journey starts.

Just yourself and your partner, if applicable.

Eat a light meal beforehand and stay well hydrated. Avoid caffeine and strenuous exercise in the hours before your appointment. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing where possible as most acupuncture points are located on the hands, feet, abdomen and back, so clothing that can be easily moved or rolled up is ideal.

Acupuncture can support IVF by improving ovarian response, supporting embryo implantation, reducing the side effects of stimulation medications and supporting emotional wellbeing throughout the process.

Yes. I work collaboratively alongside your existing medical team.

I’m not affiliated with any specific IVF clinic, which means my advice is entirely patient-centred and independent.

To receive pre and post embryo transfer support with Paige, we ask that you have been working with us in the months leading into your transfer. If you’re looking for this specific support, reach out and we’ll point you toward a trusted local practitioner who can help.

Acupuncture supports fertility by improving blood flow to the reproductive organs, regulating hormones, reducing stress and addressing underlying imbalances that may be affecting conception.

Combined with biomedicine and functional medicine, it offers a whole-body approach to reproductive health.

Where many practitioners offer acupuncture broadly, Paige brings advanced-level training and specialised training to treatments for fertility. This approach combines biomedicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine and functional medicine to investigate underlying causes, treat them and adapt to new conditions within the body.

Fertility specialists focus primarily on clinical intervention. Paige works alongside that process, investigating the cause of fertility challenges, preparing the body for IVF and providing continuity of care across the entire journey.

Paige is the only advanced-level fertility acupuncturist on the Gold Coast, and one of two in Queensland. Over the past 14 years she has completed specialised courses from national and international practitioners. She holds a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Masters of Applied Science in Acupuncture. Paige is registered with AHPRA’s Chinese Medicine Board and the Australian Acupuncture Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA). Find more information about Paige’s training here.

A calm, welcoming environment with a focus on personalised care. Every appointment is unhurried, with no surprise charges and a clear, straightforward process from booking through to treatment.

Pricing varies by service and will be discussed during your free 20-minute Connection Call with Paige.

Yes. We have HiCAPS facilities so you can receive your rebate immediately. Item numbers are 103 for an initial consultation and 203 for a follow up consultation. I recommend checking directly with your provider to confirm your level of cover.

Acupuncture is a technique used by Chinese Medicine practitioners. It involves inserting fine, medical-grade, single-use needles into specific points on the body.

These points lie on meridians which connect to internal organs, and can strengthen or reduce energy associated with that organ.

In Chinese Medicine, disease is seen as an imbalance of the energy of the internal organs. Acupuncture works to rectify this imbalance and alleviate disease.

Mostly, it feels relaxing. You very rarely feel the needles being inserted. Once the needle is in the correct position, you may feel a dull ache in the local area. Occasionally a slight sting may be felt, which quickly disappears. For tight muscles, you may feel a sensation of movement or release once the needle is inserted. When moxa is used on the end of a needle, you will feel a gentle warmth.

Usually no, but in some cases it can. Though in a way similar to how a gentle workout hurts.

We use the best quality stainless steel needles to minimise friction and maximise comfort. I also have Japanese style training, which uses a gentler needle technique.

Some discomfort may be felt in areas of muscle tension or if you move once a needle has been inserted, but most clients find acupuncture deeply relaxing.

Chinese medicine is one of the oldest forms of healthcare that exists today. It is based on the theory that our bodies are an integrated energy exchange system between ourselves, each other and the environment.

It encompasses acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy, dietary and lifestyle advice all working together to bring the body into balance and optimal health.

Yes. We use only high quality, medical grade, disposable, single-use stainless steel acupuncture needles from Japan.

Moxibustion involves the burning of a specific herb, mugwort (artemesia vulgaris) to warm and strengthen the body, stimulate blood flow, support digestion and disperse muscle tension.

It can be applied directly to the skin or on the end of a needle. It is extremely safe when performed by a qualified practitioner and has a calming effect. Bonus!

Dry needling is used by physiotherapists, chiropractors and other allied health practitioners for the treatment of local musculoskeletal pain. It also includes inserting needles. While some of these points correlate with acupuncture points, the application is very different.

Dry needling addresses local pain but doesn’t treat internal conditions. Acupuncture addresses the root cause of disease as well as the presenting symptoms. Registered acupuncturists in Australia hold a minimum four year science degree and hundreds of hours of clinical practice. Dry needling courses in Australia currently include approximately 12 hours of practical needling.

This varies depending on your service and where you are in your journey. I will outline a clear and personalised schedule as part of your treatment plan.

Not yet, but watch this space.

Fertility care at Paige Waters Acupuncture is anchored in three things – ancient wisdom, modern research and the real world. We believe that understanding your body from the cells up, combined with the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the context of your everyday life, leads to the most informed and effective care possible.

Yes of course. Having your partner there can be really supportive. I do suggest that they leave the room when you have the ‘rest’ time of the treatment to get the most out of your experience. If the partner you’re bringing is also going to be the biological father, it could be good to make a double appointment. Fertility support is really about both sperm and egg health. Just let me know at the time of booking

Not if performed by a qualified acupuncturist with specific training in early pregnancy support. There are contraindicated acupuncture points for pregnancy. These points should be avoided in the first trimester where possible. Acupuncture can actually be used to support early pregnancy and prevent pregnancy loss and is something I recommend in the first trimester.

Biomedicine informs our testing, diagnosis and understanding of physiology.

Traditional Chinese Medicine guides our treatment approach, cycle awareness and whole-body perspective.

Together they offer a more complete picture than either could alone.

A significant one. Diet, exercise, sleep, stress and relationships all influence fertility and overall wellbeing.

Every treatment plan includes personalised lifestyle recommendations. I believe that acupuncture is one piece of the puzzle, your whole life is the other.

A new cycle. A fresh chapter.
