Our clients words mean everything

I saw Paige while pregnant and preparing for a homebirth VBAC after my baby turned breech, and I truly cannot recommend her enough.”

“I saw Paige after I passed my due date and needed support, she went completely above my expectations”

“I don’t know what I would have done without Paige before and throughout my pregnancy and postpartum.”

Hi, I’m Paige

FERTILITY WAYFINDER | QUALIFIED FERTILITY ACUPUNCTURIST | MOTHER | LIFELONG SEEKER

My pregnancy was pretty textbook with my first daughter. Her delivery was anything but. I remember being forced into an induction. My husband Josh was cheffing at the time and had taken time off work too early… There was this immense pressure to have this baby soon.

When the induction came around, I had no idea what I was walking into or what to expect. No one explained the process, and I felt utterly out of control.

When I asked for options I was told no. When I asked for time I was told no. When I questioned things, I was looked at like I had five heads. I felt so totally alone, dismissed and like a completely unreasonable inconvenience.

I am so deeply passionate about arming you with the tools, steps and courage needed to advocate for yourself and your birth preferences. To feel in control, informed and positive about your birth experience.

Pregnancy welcomes a baby.
Birth welcomes a parent, too

FAQs

Yes.

When performed by a qualified and experienced practitioner.

I have completed specialised training in pregnancy acupuncture, acupuncture for labour preparation, acupuncture for pregnancy loss prevention and acupuncture for delayed labour. I follow evidence-based protocols, and what your body is telling me it needs, specific to each stage of pregnancy.

Acupuncture can help ease common pregnancy symptoms such as nausea and fatigue. It can also help to maintain hormonal balance, support nutrient delivery to the placenta and prepare the body for labour.

It is a safe and effective complement to standard obstetric care.

Ideally from four weeks.

Early treatment focuses on holding the pregnancy, easing first trimester symptoms and supporting healthy development. From 33 weeks, treatment shifts toward birth preparation.

Yes.

But if you’re asking this question, chances are you now know it’s not just morning this nausea hits. Thanks a lot pregnancy.

Acupuncture is commonly used to address nausea, back and pelvic pain, fatigue, insomnia, heartburn and anxiety during pregnancy.

Treatment is always tailored to your specific symptoms and stage of pregnancy.

Birth preparation acupuncture begins from 33 weeks and focuses on ripening the cervix (if you’re planning for a vaginal birth), encouraging optimal foetal positioning and preparing the body for labour.

Weekly sessions are recommended from this point through to your due date.

Yes.

Acupuncture for delayed labour is one of my areas of specialised training. Treatment focuses on encouraging the natural onset of labour and is a commonly sought alternative to medical induction.

Or, where induction is medically necessary, acupuncture is a supportive therapy alongside it.

Not if performed by a qualified acupuncturist with specific training in early pregnancy support. There are contraindicated acupuncture points for pregnancy. These points should be avoided in the first trimester where possible. Acupuncture can actually be used to support early pregnancy and prevent pregnancy loss and is something I recommend in the first trimester.

Technically no (but kind of).

Children aren’t invited into clinic appointments (to ensure your safety and a relaxed experience).

There is a cafe downstairs, so you may also choose to bring a friend or grandparent to keep them company while you relax in your treatment.

Yes of course. Having your partner there can be really supportive. I do suggest that they leave the room when you have the ‘rest’ time of the treatment to get the most out of your experience. If the partner you’re bringing is also going to be the biological father, it could be good to make a double appointment. It is helpful to meet your partner at least once at an appointment. Here we will go through some helpful techniques for pain relief and symptom relief with acupressure. I will also show him how to give you a massage for relief (bonus!). Men feeling empowered with what they need to do in a birthing room and in the lead up to, is incredibly important to me and all helps to add to your birth story and experience.

No referral needed. To get started, book a free 20-minute Connection Call with me (Paige) or enquire online.

For pregnancy, as early as possible.

For birth preparation, week 32-33 also works.

I encourage you to book a Connection Call, or enquire. The sooner you reach out, the sooner your journey starts.

Just yourself and your partner, if applicable.

Eat a light meal beforehand and stay well hydrated. Avoid caffeine and strenuous exercise in the hours before your appointment. Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing where possible as most acupuncture points are located on the hands, feet, abdomen and back, so clothing that can be easily moved or rolled up is ideal.

I combine biomedicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine and functional medicine to treat the body and mind. With 14 years of experience, I come with a deliberate, intentional and seasoned level of care. I work 1:1 with you in a physical and emotional sense to build wellbeing from the cells up. As a mother of two who went into my first birth blind, I am deeply passionate about arming you with the skills, tools and techniques for an empowered birth.

A calm, welcoming environment with a focus on personalised care. Every appointment is unhurried, with no surprise charges and a clear, straightforward process from booking through to treatment.

Pricing varies by service and will be discussed during your free 20-minute Connection Call.

Yes. We have HiCAPS facilities so you can receive your rebate immediately. Item numbers are 103 for an initial consultation and 203 for a follow up consultation. I recommend checking directly with your provider to confirm your level of cover.

Acupuncture is a technique used by Chinese Medicine practitioners. It involves inserting fine, medical-grade, single-use needles into specific points on the body.

These points lie on meridians which connect to internal organs, and can strengthen or reduce energy associated with that organ.

In Chinese Medicine, disease is seen as an imbalance of the energy of the internal organs. Acupuncture works to rectify this imbalance and alleviate disease.

Mostly, it feels relaxing. You very rarely feel the needles being inserted. Once the needle is in the correct position, you may feel a dull ache in the local area. Occasionally a slight sting may be felt, which quickly disappears.

For tight muscles, you may feel a sensation of movement or release once the needle is inserted. When moxa is used on the end of a needle, you will feel a gentle warmth.

Usually no, but in some cases it can. Though in a way similar to how a gentle workout hurts.

We use the best quality stainless steel needles to minimise friction and maximise comfort. I also have Japanese style training, which uses a gentler needle technique.

Some discomfort may be felt in areas of muscle tension or if you move once a needle has been inserted, but most clients find acupuncture deeply relaxing.

Chinese medicine is one of the oldest forms of healthcare that exists today. It is based on the theory that our bodies are an integrated energy exchange system between ourselves, each other and the environment.

It encompasses acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy, dietary and lifestyle advice all working together to bring the body into balance and optimal health.

Yes. We use only high quality, medical grade, disposable, single-use stainless steel acupuncture needles from Japan.

Moxibustion involves the burning of a specific herb, mugwort (artemesia vulgaris) to warm and strengthen the body, stimulate blood flow, support digestion and disperse muscle tension.

It can be applied directly to the skin or on the end of a needle. It is extremely safe when performed by a qualified practitioner and has a calming effect. Bonus!

Dry needling is used by physiotherapists, chiropractors and other allied health practitioners for the treatment of local musculoskeletal pain. It also includes inserting needles. While some of these points correlate with acupuncture points, the application is very different.

Dry needling addresses local pain but doesn’t treat internal conditions. Acupuncture addresses the root cause of disease as well as the presenting symptoms. Registered acupuncturists in Australia hold a minimum four year science degree and hundreds of hours of clinical practice. Dry needling courses in Australia currently include approximately 12 hours of practical needling.

This varies depending on your service and where you are in your journey. I will outline a clear and personalised schedule as part of your treatment plan.

Not yet, but watch this space.

Biomedicine informs our testing, diagnosis and understanding of physiology.

Traditional Chinese Medicine guides our treatment approach, cycle awareness and whole-body perspective.

Together they offer a more complete picture than either could alone.

The horizon awaits us.
